The country of Malta is leading the cryptocurrencies regulation and blockchain technology being the first nation to issue clear legislation or guidelines on the industry. For promoting the country as a hub for blockchain innovation, the first ever Delta Summit was held in Malta from 3rd to 5th of October in this year. Malta is going to host the event on a yearly basis with the registration for 2019 that’s already open on their site.

Binance Takes Part in the Event

The team from Binance led by Changpeng Zhao, CEO was present at the event. Mr. Zhao, also called as CZ, was the speaker at the event where he urged more blockchain organizations to investigate the possibilities of building up their organizations and operations in Malta.

CZ summarized the concept in a statement

“This is a country where the pioneers and the government understand the blockchain technology.

Helen Hai, Head of Binance-Initiated BCF (Blockchain Charity Foundation) talked about the summit and had this to state –

“When you discuss regarding blockchain for social good, it isn’t just a technical issue; it’s in reality about how to work with the customary world. For that, leadership is very essential. At this stage, we require industry shapers to drive the technology for the correct applications.

The Leader of Malta “Hosted a Party”

Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Malta President, co-hosted a gathering at San Anton Palace with Binance, BCF, and President’s Trust for supporting the use of blockchain technology in battling with poverty.

CZ tweeted regarding the reception as follows –

#BinanceAngels sharing a photograph with HE @PresidentMT at the night occasion at the President Palace in #Malta. This is probably the first blockchain party which is hosted by the President of a country. From 10 people meet-ups a couple of years ago to this, we have a long way.

The team at Binance made a decision to move their operations to Malta after the prohibition of cryptocurrency trading in China at the beginning of this year. They also communicated their plans for expanding globally by setting up shop in Asia, Africa, and Europe.
